Dandelion Technology, LLC
(“Dandelion”) has created this policy to inform you of our policies regarding
the collection, use and disclosure of personal information we receive from
users of our AllerPal App (the “App”), or our website www.allerpal.net (the “Site”).
By choosing to use either the Site or the App, you are consenting to the
collection, storage and disclosure and other uses as described herein. The App and the Site are together referred to
as the “Services.”
Because we will always looking for new and
innovative ways to help food allergy families improve communication, this policy
may change over time, as we consider appropriate. If any modifications
substantially change your rights, we will send an email or App-based
notification summarizing the changes to the address associated with your
account and provide notice on the Site.
Data Collected
When You Create an
Account
If you want to download the app or post
comments to our blog, you must create an AllerPal account (an “Account”). When
you create an Account, we ask for your email address. Your email address will
be your Account user name, which you will use to log-in to your Account.
Creating
Action Plans for your Children
For premium members that
wish to use the App to enter an Allergy Action Plan for their child, Dandelion
collects the following additional personal information: name, photo, date of
birth, food allergies and reactivity, medication and dosage, treatment plan and
emergency contact information.
When You Visit Our Site
AllerPal collects
industry standard data from everyone who visits the Site. This includes log
data that automatically records information about your visit, such as your
browser type, operating system, the URL of the page that referred you, the
different actions you performed, and the IP address you used to access pages on
the Site. We use this type of information to provide you with an experience that
is relevant to your location based on the IP address, to prevent Site misuse,
and to ensure the Site is working properly.
When You Contact Us For
Help
Whenever you contact us for help, we collect
your name and email address along with additional information you provide in
your request so that we can provide you with assistance and improve the Services.
You can also contact us on public forums such as Facebook; however, we cannot
maintain the privacy of your communication to us if you contact us through
these channels.
How We Use Your Data
AllerPal uses your data to communicate
important allergy care information about your child to only the email addresses
that you have specified. This information will remain private (other than such
sharing at your direction) and can only be accessed by the email accounts you
have shared the information with. We
cannot control subsequent use of such information by email accounts you have
shared the information with.
Other ways data is used:

Contact information is used to send you notifications, and to inform you about new features or products we think you would be interested in.

Data and logs are used in research to understand and improve the Allerpal website and app; to troubleshoot; to detect and protect against error, fraud or other criminal activity; and to enforce the AllerPal Terms of Service.

De-identified data that does not identify you may be used to inform the health community about trends; for marketing and promotional use; or for sale to interested audiences.
What Data May be Shared
With Third Parties?
We don’t sell any data that could identify
you. We only share data about you when you specify that we share it by adding
email addresses using the share feature, when the data is de-identified and
aggregated, or when you direct us to share it.
Data That Could Identify
You
Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is
data that includes a personal identifier like your name, email or address, or
data that could reasonably be linked back to you. We will only share this data
under the following circumstances:
If we believe that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, valid legal process (e.g., subpoenas or warrants served on us), or governmental or regulatory request, to enforce or apply the Terms of Service or Terms, to protect the security or integrity of AllerPal or Dandelion Technology, LLC , and/or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Dandelion Technology its employees, users, or others. If we are going to release your data, we will do our best to provide you with notice in advance by email, unless we are prohibited by law from doing so.

We may disclose or transfer your PII in connection with the sale, merger, bankruptcy, sale of assets or reorganization of our company. We will notify you if a different company will receive your PII and the promises in this Privacy Policy will apply to your data as transferred to the new entity.
Data That Does Not
Identify You (De-identified Data)
AllerPal may share or sell aggregated,
de-identified data that does not identify you, with partners and the public in
a variety of ways, such as by providing research or reports about health and
fitness or as part of our Premium membership. When we provide this information,
we perform appropriate procedures so that the data does not identify you and we
contractually prohibit recipients of the data from re-identifying it back to
you.

You can direct us to
share your children’s food allergy action plan by sharing the plan and
providing the email address to share with.

Share Your Data
Community Posts
To post comments to the AllerPal blog, you’ll
be asked to create a community username that is separate from your AllerPal
profile name, which is your email address. This community username will be
posted next to any comments you publish on community message boards.
Contests and Giveaways
AllerPal may offer opportunities to
participate in contests, giveaways and other promotions. Any data you submit in
connection with these activities will be treated in accordance with this
Privacy Policy, unless the rules for those offers note otherwise.
How To Deactivate Your Account
You can deactivate your Account
by contacting customer service ([email protected]). When you do,
data that can identify you will be removed, including but not limited to your
email, name, photo(s), allergy and medication information, care instructions,
caregiver list and links to sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Backup copies
of this data will be removed from our server based upon an automated schedule,
which means it may persist in our archive for a limited period. AllerPal may
continue to use your de-identified data after you deactivate your Account.
Opt-out Of Receiving
AllerPal Emails
You can opt-out of receiving notifications
about blog posts or emails by changing the blog preferences in your account
settings or by unsubscribing via the “Unsubscribe” link in any AllerPal email.
Opting-out of these emails will not end transmission of important
service-related emails that are necessary to your use of the Services.
Data From International
Visitors
The AllerPal Site and App are hosted and maintained
entirely in the United States and are subject to United States law. Any
personal information that you provide to AllerPal is being transferred to
AllerPal for use solely in the United States and will be hosted on United
States servers. You consent to the transfer of your personal information to the
United States. If you are accessing the Services from outside the United
States, please be advised that United States law may not offer the same privacy
protections as the law of your jurisdiction.
Technologies We Use
Cookies are text files that are sent by
servers to web browsers and stored on your computer. Cookies enable sites and
service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember
certain information. We use cookies to save your preferences for future visits
and compile aggregate data about Site traffic and Site interaction so we can
offer better experiences and tools in the future.
Social media tools, like widgets and plug-ins,
are used so you can share information from AllerPal on other sites such
Facebook and Twitter. These interactive mini-programs collect your IP address,
record the pages you visit on our Site, and set cookies that will enable the
widget to function properly. Your interactions with these widgets are governed
by the privacy policy of the company providing them, not by our Privacy Policy.
We also use the Facebook and Twitter pixel tags to help us understand how
effective our marketing is on those sites.
We use
Google Analytics to see how you use the Services so we can improve your
experience. We encourage you to read the Google Privacy Policy. If you prefer
to not have data reported by Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out
Browser Add-on.
